Social Media Post #174: Stronger Foundations - Brighter Futures
Stronger foundations. Brighter futures.
What enables a child to become a confident, capable reader and lifelong learner?
It begins long before formal literacy instruction. Children need the foundations to understand, think, make connections and engage meaningfully with the world around them.
The Basic Concepts Programme (BCP) brings together four interconnected elements: language, concepts, cognitive processes and mediated learning.
Through a structured educational methodology, we train, equip and support teachers to become effective mediators of children's learning. The focus is not simply on delivering content, but on developing children's capacity to understand, think, solve problems and benefit from further learning.
This is what makes our approach distinctive.
We believe every child has the capacity to learn and develop. Our work is about creating the conditions and opportunities that enable that development to take place.
Because when children understand more, they can do more.
Building understanding today. Creating opportunities for tomorrow.
